Step 1: Determine the Initial Data

To make the project as efficient as possible, I reused components I already had:
- The original spool roller
- 2x M4 x 35mm bolts
- 2x pre-installed threads
Then I measured all the necessary dimensions to ensure the new holder would fit perfectly within the current setup.
Step 2: Create a 3D Design
For all my projects, I use the free version of Fusion 360, which covers everything I need for 3D modeling. The most important thing is to define all the parameters before you start sketching — this makes it much easier to adjust your design later if needed.
I also accounted for the printer’s tolerance to ensure everything would fit together smoothly.
To save filament and increase structural strength, I added a few circular holes to the holder design.

Step 3: Print
I chose a layer height of 0.4 mm to speed up the printing process. The number of perimeters was set to 3, and I used a Gyroid infill pattern at 5% density. Supports were only used for the roller latches to ensure proper printing.
Printing the entire part took less than two hours.
Step 4: Assembly
Thanks to the precise tolerances, assembling the mount was quick and easy. Within minutes, everything was set up and ready to shine on top of my printer.
