What is this?

This is a frame for attaching googly eyes to your printer! This is an alternative to gluing them which doesn't work if your googly eyes are very large, or you just want them on top of your printer to make your toolhead much more interesting.

The STL provided here is for the Anycubic Kobra printer and two 40mm googly eyes. See the ‘how do I modify this?’ section if you need something different.

How do I print this?

Drop the STL in to your slicer and print away. I used a 0.3mm layer height and some pretty bad PLA to do this.

Once you've finished the print, use super glue or some other adhesive to glue in your googly eyes. Wait 10-20 minutes then attach the frame to your printer.

It may take a bit of fiddling to get the frame to set right and the eyes to wobble properly. I've found the eyes google better if the pupils rest against the outer transparent casing rather than upright vertically against the eye base.

How do I modify this?

The steps are roughly these:

1. Download FreeCAD and open the CAD file provided
2. Find the ‘EDIT_ME’ spreadsheet in the object tree and open it
3. Tweak the values of things like eye count, frame size, thickness, depth, eye diameter, etc
4. Export the project as an STL
5. Print it

If you're resizing the frame I would highly recommend you click on the ‘FramePad’ object in the object tree and hit space, then export and test print just the frame. Then when you have the correct size, click on the ‘InnerEyePocketPattern’ object and hit space, then export and print the eyes and frame combined.
