The Xmas tree is constructed of two 3d printed frames and 9 rings of 241 LEDs.  The two frames slide into each other to form the base of the tree.  The rings are then hot glued in position, bottom up.  Each ring is connected to its predecessor, if any, before gluing its place.  The rings used in this project can be found in the this link.
