What it is

A funnel with a rectangular shape, so that it fits in a small component bin. The funnel is optionally asymmetric, which means that the wide part is not sloped on one side. If the component bins have a lid that opens up to 90 degrees, the asymmetric funnel fits well. The various dimensions of the funnel are adjustable with the OpenSCAD customizer.

Why I made it

For prototypes and repairs, I use small bins for SMD components. When a bin is empty, I refill it from a reel (or a stretch of "cut tape"). For that purpose, a funnel is really convenient.

The component bins have a lid. A standard symmetrical funnel will not fit, because the lid can only rotate roughly 90 degrees. Hence, I designed my own.

The container bins that I use a fairly common, but if you happen to use different bins, get the OpenSCAD design file, and adjust the parameters.
