I didn't have a pin small enough to fit the metal bracket and I didn't like the way it wouldn't sit flush to the wall with the pin mount. I also liked that it can be more firmly located using a screw and it won't move if knocked.

No idea if this'll fit anything else. I measured the hole in the back of my barometer and it was 58.9mm.
