After countless (well over 30!!) attempts at trying to get @lee mortons 3D Perspective Illusion Generator(ish) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:13963 program working ..
with no success i decided to have a go at this using fusion 360 and the import svg function and extrude faces command ..
this is only the first of many i plan to upload as i have not had the chance to print it myself yet ..
( print settings are now up ) ;)

Notes:
was quite impressed how this turned out in actual print .. i have now uploaded some pics of my own print ..
first thing i did was to export two svg files from inkscape into fusion 360 (one saying MAGIC and the other ILLUSION)
after using the .."trace bitmap" function save both as .SVG !!
used "Trace Bitmap" first to get a decent svg ..then go to file save as " SVG"
after importing the two svg files into fusion 360 .. i then extruded them both and overlapped both extrusions and the point where the intersect start erasing the unneeded parts to finally end up with something similar to the model ..
as i've already said this was my first go at creating the same effect as lee's program .. but trying to make that work was so frustrating for me
.. so i decided to have a go at it myself .. im quite chuffed that i got something similar to lee's program results.. i hope that this thing will be printable as it seems as if it would be as it is completely waterproof and no mistakes importing the stl into repetier host ;) for printing ...
short vid explaining some parts .. i will upload a more informative one when i get some time working on this design .. but for now enjoy the vid
as soon as i have a decent print out of it . i will upload a more informative tut on how i achieved this effect ;) ,,,
but for now i need a rest lol
