This is a thin (6mm) Qi Phone Charger rebuilt/redesigned from cheap Qi Chargers you can buy from China - like the one I used this previous project: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1226086

I hate plugging things into my phone. The plug always wears out or gets clogged with pocket crud. My phone has built-in Qi charging capabilities, so I got a cover for the usb port and use wireless charging exclusively.

So I wanted a small, thin Qi charger I could plug into any battery or USB wall plug to take wherever I go. The cheap ones you can buy from China are huge! About the size of a phone. If you open one up, you'll discover is mostly air inside.

So I gutted one and designed a case around the electronics to be as small and thin as possible. This is the result.

You can print the base with/without a raft and on .2mm resolution. I recommend the top be printed at .1mm as it is only .6mm thick. You'll get 4 layers that way (.3mm base + 3 @ .1mm), so it will be more stable and solid.



I printed this in black, but if you print in something more translucent you'll be able to see the charger lights. If you print in clear, you might be able to see all the electronics inside!

The top has guides to fit it to the base. Just place all the electronics inside as shown and then glue the top down with Superglue. Now you've got one of the smallest Qi charges anywhere!
