I really loved knights of sidonia when i first saw it in 2015 and i still remembered it even after all these years, after getting a 3d printer the first thing i did was to search for stls of the series, but alas to my surprise i found next to nothing, as such i went “fine, i'll do it myself” and made Sidonia in all it's glory (and with a stand too). The model is not perfect that i can say, but im really proud of what i've created and how it came out in the end, Chucked in some details like the research lab behind sidonia or the mass cannons on the front (btw i discovered that there are mass cannons on the back too on the original sidonia but tbh im kind of tired right now, i may update it in the future if someone ask for it but they're just the “slits” of the mass cannons, so yeah not much). While modelling i took inspiration from the Sidonia Pit Road 1/100000 on the amazon jp, obviusly it's not the same as my modelling skills are not the best but still it's a close match.

Print Recommendations:

Speed: i used 100mm/s for the perimeters, 250mm/s for infill and 150mm/s for supports
Layer height: I personally made it with 0.1mm of layer height but with 0.2 it still comes out great.

If you want to print Sidonia in one piece i suggest to print it with the engines toward the plate
(Although do be prepared to clean a bit the engines)

When creating the gcode for the base you can make an M600 (aka change color) on the writing, as to make it more fancy and most of all readable, btw i do suggest brim for the base.

After printing the base be careful not to pull it from the plate until it's cold, as the bottom layer could detach itself if you put too much force when it's hot (happened to me and had to glue it back up).

In the end i would suggest some drops of glue in the holes of both Sidonia and the Stand so when you finally put the pillars and let it cool down it has more structural integrity.
