This is a small joystick.

The base and ring of joystick are designed to slot together. This works on well calibrated machines but if it isn't you may have difficulty latching them together. You can also do horizontal expansion in the minuses if you want to /(':')\

if that doesn't work just cut of the latch and glue with superglue.
