This is an infrared emitting dead tracking unit used with the Opentrack software.

It uses 3 Harvatek HE3-290AC IR-Emitter 940 nm 90°5mm LED´s wired in series.

But any other IR emitting LED´s will work as long as they have a spread of at least 90°

For Power, a Simple Buck Boost Converter is used to step down the 5V voltage from the PC just a tiny bit, as to not overload the LED´s, as well as isolate potental shorts from the PC´s USB port. But a simple resistor can be used as well.

With some Trial and Error a Battery Powered Version is Certainly Possible.
