A while ago LEGO has produced a small Christmas train that fits onto the narrow gauge track.
Unfortunately LEGO has only ever produced one type of curved track and two types of ramp track, but no straights or anything else.
So I created my own tracks:
- Straight track with length 4, 8 and 16 studs
- Curved track with angle 45° and radius 24 studs (this is the same as the original LEGO piece)
- Curved track with angle 22.5° and radius 24, 32 and 36 studs
- Crossover with angle 90° and length 8 studs
Printing without generated support is recommanded, because the track connectors have a build-in support. You might need to enable “detect thin walls” for this to work (e.g. when using PrusaSlicer with classic perimeter generator).
I slived the files in PrusaSlicer with Arachne perimeter generator, and printed the tracks in PETG with 0.2mm layer height on Prusa MK3S with 0.4mm nozzle. The tolerances, especially on the track connectors, are optimized for this setup.
For better mini wheels (that prevent the Christmas train from colliding with the track at the crossover) see: Better mini wheel for LEGO trains
