The guide use 6mm dowel to line up the guides, inserted into the slots that are already made. STEP files are included so that you can customize to fit whatever you have on hand. A 8mm router bit for my dremmel was used to make the slots. The slots are 8mm wide and 28mm long, although not exactly the same as a Skadis board, the DIY board is still compatible with Skadis style attachments.
