This is a OO scale model of a GNR brake coach. I painted it in the colours of the LNER engineers department.

The sides and ends were built around a base made of two sheets of foamboard, into which I embedded two 10mm nuts to add weight to the model. The interior was painted brown and the windows were glazed. The roof is made from thin card with vents stuck on top.
I fitted wheels bought from AliExpress and glued the two halves of the chassis together, ensuring that the wheels rotate freely. Once the glue has set, I reinforced the join with cross pieces of thin plastic. For a smoother ride, enlarge the wheel sockets using a 2mm drill, fit "top hat" brass bearings (from Dundas Models) and use metal wheels.
Painted with acrylic paint. Transfers from HMRS. Finished with matt varnish and weathered with powdered pastel crayon.
