Summary
Updated V2.1 of my sim racing paddle shifters, for use with any wheel. Optionally use my NRG Button Plate V2 project if you want to use the NRG Reinforced wheel.
Print in ABS, ASA, or ABS/CF (pictured) for toughness. This is the third revision over two years. They have several hundred hours of testing, and are durable and very clicky. They should last basically forever, with the occasional switch replacement.
BOM: M3x8, M3x12, M3 heat inserts, 15mm disc neo magnets, M5 lever pivots, 20x10mm microswitches. Wire the switches as shown so they are normally CLOSED (NC) - just use the two outer lugs, not the middle one. Be sure to use N52 grade magnets for the strongest pull.
Note 1: M3 heat inserts are used in the two holes on top of the Shifter Body, where the Shift Cap (piece holding the switch) mounts. Also in the Shift Lever, where the Paddle mounts.
Note 2: If you use the two files ShiftPaddle and ShiftLever, you will get standard-length paddles. Using ShiftPaddleShort and ShiftLeverShort gives paddles that are 5mm shorter, appropriate for smaller wheels like F1, etc.
Note 3: You can build a spacer stack to correctly position the wheel toward the driver using the ShaftSpacer* files. The ShaftSpacer_HighClearance allows the shifters to be positioned closer inboard for use with smaller wheels.
