Made a remix of this excellent idea,
however, use this only as temporary solution* if you cannot crimp
some dupont pins, female preferred, on an usb cable, either bought as is
or harvested form a dead device, like keyboard, mice, so on..

This is for a dupont 2.54 1x4, i.e. the one housing 4 pins.

Update 1: it printed and works fine, I published a make as well.

Update 2: Added a first variant with housing, for which the dupont pins can be extracted from original housing and inserted in the adapter.

Update 3: Added tighter variant with housing

Update 4: Added variant with case in which you can insert the duponts in their original housing as well
