That's no moon... oh, wait. Yes it is.

This is a lightsaber model that goes over a laser pointer. It has a base that fits a QHY PoleMaster socket for telescope polar alignment. The laser pointer goes into the PoleMaster socket to get an initial rough polar alignment which makes it easier to refine the alignment with the PoleMaster or other system. Of course, you can also use laser pointer with lightsaber cover freehand.

It is bright enough to be dangerous (Class III) so be careful.

The button clicks and holds the on or off position. The short cylinder goes over the tip of the laser pointer (after unscrewing the tip cover). The purpose is so you can push on the tip to eject the pointer out the bottom, without getting fingerprints on the tip. More specifically, you can push the pointer part way out so that the button no longer turns on the laser pointer. That will prevent it from accidentally getting activated while in a bag or something.
