Yard Stake for Boundary/Invisible Fence Wire

A simple, durable, and easy-to-print yard stake designed to hold boundary wires for invisible pet fences or robotic lawnmower installations.

Description

Stop struggling with flimsy, expensive OEM stakes. This design is optimized for FDM 3D printing and can be printed in bulk quickly without the need for supports.

The head is designed to capture the wire securely while allowing for easy installation (push-in) and adjustment. The shank includes a barbed design to ensure it stays anchored in the soil once pushed in.

Printing Recommendations

• Material: PLA (for temporary/soft soil), PETG or ABS (recommended for long-term outdoor durability/UV resistance).
• Layer Height: 0.2mm - 0.28mm (for speed).
• Infill: 20-30% (Grid or Gyroid works well).
• Perimeters: 3 or 4 perimeters recommended for extra strength in the shank.
• Supports: None.
• Orientation: Print vertically as designed.

Tips for Best Results

• If you have very hard, rocky soil, I recommend using a screwdriver to pilot a small hole first to prevent the top of the stake from breaking during intense pounding.
• If you are printing for a long-term installation, PETG is highly recommended due to its better UV stability and flexibility compared to standard PLA.
