This thing is a device that holds a Ryobi grass Trimmer spool. To use it, use a 3/8" bolt and clamp an empty spool to this holder. Chuck the hexagon part into a slow-turning lathe or hand drill. Use this setup to wind new nylon string onto the spool. If you use a lathe, be sure to use one capable of slow turning speeds (<100 rpm ?)
