i store things on the lids of my toolboxes. the supports hold adequately so far, but if they close just a little, it won't hold.

fits 8mm gas support shaft.
cut a 5mm round chopstick to the length you want.

if it's too tight snapping it on to the shaft, filing a bit off the narrowest edges makes it easier to snap on.
