This design is a sort of matte box to help shade the lens from flaring when shooting in bright sunlight. It's also a handy lens cover as it closes snugly.

You will need some 1.5mm diameter steel rod for the hinges to complete the design.

I designed this to fit my GoPro Hero 7 Black so I don't know if it will fit other GoPro models.
