I interfaced my vintage old Mitutoyo dial indicator (Digimatic series 543-513) to my computer and devices through network (ESP8266+microPython+UDP multicast) and can see the measurements on any computer / browser capable device (using Node-red).

I needed a holder, so I interfaced the bottom tubular outter threaded shaft to another shaft 3/4" I had with this arm.
