Disclaimer I want to make it clear that I do not make any claims at this being the best way to remove a tick or the safest. I also do not make any claims that this has a 100% success rate at removing ticks. Please use at your own discretion and after doing your own research. Consider contacting a medical professional who is more suitable for these tasks if you do not feel comfortable doing this yourself. I made this for my own personal use and am sharing it with anyone else who is interested in using it or improving on the design. Disclaimer
This is a completely new redesign of the original Tick Remover. I have made a lot of modifications to the original design that should make this a much more improved design.
While this isn't as aesthetically appealing, it should work the same, if not better, than the original design.
I preferred the half sphere design, but it just wasn't working once printed.
The bowl design was too thin at the base and printers just aren't laying down enough filament to make it sturdy enough. A hole appears as a result of this which is completely unintentional. Regardless whether you print with supports or not, this hole appears and it defeats the purpose of the design which is to hold the tick safely without dropping it and losing it to further harm another creature.
While I preferred that design, it simply wasn't feasible under the designs I created so I went with a box design instead.
This printed exactly as it should.
The same description for the first applies here as well. I made this one as a remix instead of including it in the original because this is a whole new design and deserves a new page. I do hope others see this instead of the original. The original works, that hole was just something I never liked and can cause problems if the tick is small enough to fall through.
If anyone can improve on that design, I would love it. If anyone can improve upon this design, that would be great as well.
I'm still new to all of this process but I'm learning.
