Description
This bracket allows you to top mount an SFX PSU and have its connector side facing towards the motherboard side of the case, which make for a cleaner cabling path.
Restrictions and caveats
-
You can only use a 120mm front fan if you use this bracket.
-
I'm publishing this after some requests from PCPartPicker users; it was built for my own use and uses hardware that I had on-hand. The design is not optimized in any way,.
-
I've included the OpenSCAD file for remixes.
Additional Hardware
-
4x M3x10mm joiners (female-female standoffs). I used the “uxcell M3 x 0.5-Pitch 10mm Length 304 Stainless Steel Metric Hex Coupling Nut, 10-Pack” from Amazon.
-
2x UNC6-32 bolts to mount the PSU to the brackets. (I think they were 3/8", but you can modify the openSCAD pockets for whatever you are using.
-
4x M3 bolts. I don't remember the length I used, but they're used to attach the bracket to the case through the M3x10mm joiners above, so something like M3x16 through M3x20 should work.
-
4x M3 fender washers (optional, recommended)
Installation
-
Print in a relatively heat-resistant material
-
Print with the L shape flat on the plate
-
Supports are necessary for the clearance hole in the corner.
-
Insert M3 joiners in the holes
-
Remove the existing bracket from the case if you had it installed
-
Align the M3 hole with the case holes on top and front.
-
Attach with M3 bolts.
-
Attach PSU with UNC bolts
