I designed this lid support for the Creality K1 Max to keep the top lid partially open during printing.
I was having nozzle clogging issues while printing TPC at around 280 °C, because the filament was softening inside the extruder. Printing with the lid slightly open helped reduce this problem, while still keeping some chamber temperature, reducing noise, and preventing objects from falling inside the printer.
The support fits on the printer edge and into the original lid handle, with a small recess for the handle screws. It keeps the lid open by about 10 cm and, in my use, it did not fall due to printer vibration.
The part was printed in TPC because it was the material I had available, but it should work with most common 3D printing materials. The glass lid is light, so high infill is not necessary.
I printed it with a 0.08 mm layer height for a better finish on the curved surfaces, but larger layer heights should also work if appearance is not a priority.
I hope you like it!
