This is a modified spool holder arm for the Bambu Lab A1, designed to mount facing down. A solid vertical column with a flared base anchors the arm, which extends horizontally to a cylindrical spool head.
The head was widened to 42 mm to fit two symmetric retaining nubs — one facing up and one facing down — so the spool stays centered and seated from both sides. The mounting column carries a blind 18.2 mm bore (closed at the bottom) for a press-fit shaft or rod.
Files
- spool_2munones_v3_medio_nuevo.stl — main part: arm with bored column and dual symmetric nubs
Print settings
- Material: PLA or PETG
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Walls/perimeters: 4
- Infill: 20–30%
- Supports: the upward-facing nub is an overhang — add minimal supports or orient the part so it prints cleanly
- The flared column base prints flat on the bed with no supports
Assembly notes
- Insert your shaft/rod into the 18.2 mm bore (sized for a snug press fit — adjust scale slightly if your hardware differs)
- Recenter the model on the plate before slicing
