🥚 About the Model
I created this model because I couldn't find a good, simple egg model.
Most models I found were either cut off at the bottom or had artefacts caused by low-resolution exports.
The shape and size of this egg are based on a real M-size egg, which I measured and remodeled in FreeCAD.
The CAD model is also included in the downloads.
🖨 Print Settings
I recommend using a low layer height of around 0.1 mm to achieve a nice, smooth shape.
There is a small flat area at the bottom of the egg. This helps it stick to the print bed and means no supports are required.
Bed Adhesion
You may want to add a few millimeters of brim, especially if your print bed isn't perfectly clean.
With a clean build plate, it should also work without a brim.
Finishing
There can be some small overhang artefacts at the bottom of the egg.
Don't worry about them — they can be sanded off quickly and easily.
🥚 Why I Made It
I printed a couple of these eggs for my little son's kitchen.
I hope you enjoy the model, and I would be happy to see your makes!
