This is a 10 inch rack mount for the CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock, side by side with the power supply brick.
Disassembly
Note - to fit cleanly in 1U It requires disassembly of the dock:
- Remove the 4 long screws on the back
- Remove the rubber base from the case
- Remove the 4 screws from the base
- Slide out the dock frame
Reassembly
To re-assemble the frame into the rack mount, insert it into the 3d-printed part all the way, and then screw it in from the side using 4x M3x8 flat recessed screws.
The power supply brick slides into the cavity next to the dock frame, push it in all the way, and tuck any remaining wire in the space on top of the brick.
Note on thermals
Although most of the internal TS4 dock frame was not in direct contact with the outer frame, the original aluminum case likely helped with heat dissipation. I've been running the dock in this 3d printed shell continuously for many hours, powering a MacBook pro, and the thermals seem to be just fine. If you aren't comfortable with this, don't use this print.
