This device is created to quickly cut larger “Big Box” wholesale store pies. First, we need to discuss Food Safe filaments. If you search the Internet you will find that PetG, ASA, and ABS are considered food safe products. To learn more about using food safe filament search the internet for the following. “Is PetG a food safe filament?” One thing that I had not thought about was the metal in the nozzle.
A word of caution that I’ll give you is that retail outlets have listing for “Food Safe” and “Certified Food Safe” filaments. The rule of thumb that I use is that “Food Safe” filaments are for ONE USE ONLY and then discarded! If you want to be able to use the 3d print a number of times then I recommend that you only use a transparent, “Certified Food Safe” filament and either a New, Unused nozzle, or one that has only been used with “Certified Food Safe” filament.
The filament that I have found that is Certified Food Safe is manufactured be Comfy Materials. I recommend that you search for “Comfy Materials Carbon Pet G Certified Food Safe Filament”, to learn more about this filament and Certified Food Safe filaments.
Can you use a dishwasher with PetG 3d printed products? My personal experience is “yes, but!” As long as the PetG item is free of pressure on its surfaces you should be alright. However if the PetG is pressed upon by anything during the wash cycle it could become warped. The safest way to clean them is hand washing.
To use the pie cutter simply push down where you want the pie to be cut from edge to edge. This way you have complete control of the size of pie that is produced. I rinse the the cutter off to keep the cut lines clean and sharp.
Hope you enjoy this product.
