This is a custom logo badge remix designed to complement the excellent Smart Speaker Retro Radio Housing by raphetsonatelier.
Inspired by the iconic Radiation King brand from the Fallout universe (games and TV series), this vintage-style logo adds that perfect ironic, fun, retro-futuristic touch—think classic 1950s appliance advertising with a post-apocalyptic wink. Many creators (including Zion Brock in his vintage radio builds) have leaned into this aesthetic for its nostalgic charm and humorous edge.
Remix notes This version is a remix of the original Radiation King logo on Thingiverse by greenebean0883. The main improvement: all elements are now fully connected into a single solid piece, eliminating the hassle of aligning and mounting separate floating parts. It mounts cleanly and securely on the magnetic grid cover or other spots on the retro housing.
Printing recommendations
- Best surface finish: Print face down (logo facing the build plate) for the crispest, smoothest details on the raised text and graphics—highly recommended. The supports came off super easy and the black on black support material left not visible trace.
- Face-up option: Still looks good when printed face up, especially if you want a slightly softer, more vintage-worn appearance.
- Filaments: Any standard white PLA + black PLA combo works beautifully for the classic two-tone look.
- Silver version shown: Printed in Geeetech Silk PLA (silver) — gives a shiny, metallic retro appliance vibe.
- Some users report the Geeetech silk looks especially stunning when printed face down on a perfectly smooth build plate (glass or PEI with release agent).
- The photos here use the default textured build plate — still comes out great with nice subtle sheen and no major loss in detail.
Scale as needed to fit your housing (original is sized for easy testing; adjust in slicer for prominence). Glue, double-sided tape work well for attachment. Enjoy the retro upgrade—trust the king!
