Structural Design
The design employs a two-piece, plug‑in assembly consisting of a circular weighted base and an integrated upright column with a cross‑shaped holder. The base features square mortise holes, into which the column’s square tenons are directly inserted for secure attachment—no screws or adhesives required—ensuring easy disassembly and robust structural stability.
The top cross‑shaped bracket provides four hanging slots equipped with stop grooves; brush cords can be snapped into these slots, offering stable suspension that resists slipping and supporting up to four brushes simultaneously.
The large‑diameter circular base adopts a low‑center‑of‑gravity design, ensuring steady placement and strong resistance to tipping.
Printing Recommendations
- Material Recommendation: PETG is preferred. Compared to PLA, PETG offers superior toughness, excellent water resistance and moisture protection, and outstanding impact resistance, making it well suited for post‑washing, damp conditions. It remains durable over time without becoming brittle, with strong interlayer adhesion. PLA is also viable, as it has a lower printing threshold and higher dimensional accuracy, ideal for dry environments.
- Parameter Guidelines: A layer thickness of 0.2 mm is recommended. For the base, 100% infill is advised to increase weight and enhance stability, while the column and holder can use 20% infill. When printing PETG, set the nozzle temperature at 230–240°C, the heated bed at 70–80°C, and the cooling fan speed between 30% and 50%. Print at a speed of 40–60 mm/s. Since the model lacks extensive overhanging structures, no supports are needed, keeping the print process straightforward.
Functional Applications
Primarily designed for suspended drying and desktop storage of calligraphy brushes, this holder prevents water from pooling at the tips and causing deformation, thereby extending the brush’s lifespan. It can also be used to hang small stationery items, ornaments, or other lightweight objects.
