This model is a TPU strap, used to securely fasten skis and ski poles together. No additional hardware is needed, and no assembly is required—just TPU. I printed mine using TPU 95A.
When I was carrying all the equipment with my child, I needed a solution to prevent the equipment from slipping out of my hands. After researching the existing solutions on the market, I decided not to pay an exorbitant price for cheap plastic products, so I of course decided to design my own. I was also not satisfied with some of the existing printable designs that failed to fully secure the ski poles to the straps. My design criteria were as follows:
- It must be able to print on most printers
- No assembly is required. It must be able to be removed directly from the print bed and used immediately.
- No support is needed
- The ski poles must be completely fixed so that they won't come loose easily
I tried several different methods, but finally settled on V3. Believe me, V1 and V2 aren't worth releasing. I'm happy to make further updates based on feedback. I haven't conducted extensive testing yet, but I've used it successfully several times.
I'd like to mention that I noticed there's a rather long bridge at the top of the model's opening. My printer handled it just fine, and I expect yours will too. No support is needed.
When I used it, I realized that I could set it up a bit like a tripod, because the ski poles were secured by straps. This was an unexpected discovery. See the picture.
I only use one strap for each set of skis/ski poles, but some people might prefer to use two straps for each set of ski equipment to better secure the ski poles.
